The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster is the quintessential Jacobean tragedy. This production at the School of the Arts completely re-imagined the classic to take place in 1920s New York at the height of corruption. In order to faithfully capture the corruption and madness within this show the decision was made early on to set the show inside of a mental hospital. The confines soon became a padded cell which created the necessary claustrophobia and insanity needed to correctly illustrate the creative team's vision
